In March 2012 the firm settled a personal injury action in federal court in White Plains for a woman who had tripped and fallen on a jetway at Newark Airport while returning home after an international flight. The case was governed by the Montreal Convention, a treaty to which the United States is a party. The Convention governs personal injury claims of any airline passengers who are injured during or while departing from or boarding international flights. The firm sued the Port Authority, which operates the airport, the airline, and the company that was responsible for maintaining and operating the jetway.
